NeurotechSC Fall Introduction

NeuroTechSC is UCSC’s undergraduate chapter of NeuroTechX, an international organization with student chapters, whose goal is to engage in neurotechnology, computational neuroscience, and brain-computer interfaces. This upcoming fall, NeuroTechSC will be working on a Subvocal Recognition Project, which consists of a headset that takes subvocalized EMG input through neuromuscular signals in speech articulators, converting it into readable text. This project is based on the AlterEgo system created at MIT. This form of technology allows the user to silently converse and communicate with a computer device as a form of conversational interface.
